Vision and Goals

The goal of CVFC is to create a platform by and for the Jazz dance community that can be used to address different issues faced by the scene, led by people who are concerned about each issue. Projects will be led by different individuals. Our vision is to create a working space that will evolve over time as more people enter the conversation. With everyone’s participation, we want to build the resources to bring about tangible changes in each local community and in the larger structure of our social fabric. As the current board members, our role is to facilitate the process.

Short Term Goal - 2020

To address the issues of racial inequalities and cultural appropriation in the Jazz dance community in Europe and globally with a series of webinars, involving many different voices in the process.

The webinar series will address 3 major points:

Part 1. The Message (What are the issues and our role in them?)

Part 2. The Action (How can we address the issues?)

Part 3. The Journey (Where are we now and where do we go from here?)
